Summary
Ryland Grace has had a weird couple of years, but somehow, picking up a stray astronaut from Mars on his way home to Earth after a failed suicide mission winds up being MUCH weirder than the genuine space alien that’s hitching a ride with the two of them. But getting home was the easy part, escaping government detainment to rescue his new alien friend is shaking out to be much more difficult. Can he really trust the very same people who sent him into space to die against his will to help him get out of this mess? I guess we’ll find out!

Grace knew slowly starving to death was gonna suck, but man was this lamer than he’d anticipated…
My first fanfic! Ever! Please be nice to me I’m learning :,)
This may not be 100% accurate since Andy Weir is so goated when it comes to realistic world building and I am not science brained enough to understand half of what he writes. I’m mainly basing things off the book but Rocky and Grace act more like they do in the movie in my interpretation. I kinda just rolled with it from there. Also, I haven’t researched a ton into human starvation so some of the info may not be super accurate, but hey I can always change it later if not! (I think… Idk man I’ve never posted anything here before). Anyways, I hope you enjoy! Apologies in advance for subjecting you to my ADD fueled angst brain, but at least we can suffer together! :D
And no, he doesn’t die! Though he may wish he had at some point…
