The faint whizzing of silk sliding against silk as the Guuji reaches over to her bedside bookcase, the snipping of petals plucked from an ikebana display.
She leans in closer to sink the soft curls of chrysanthemum into the Shogun’s throat. Reflected in the kitsune’s eyes, Ei sees a mirror image of herself, frozen in time, lips sweetly and peacefully curved into a light smile, unperturbed by the experience as though Miko were feeding her dessert.
“Why...?” The reflection shimmers as well-contained tears finally start to well up in those eyes. “Why did it have to be you..?”
Ei travels backwards in time.

“Why are you laughing at me?!” Sara demanded, blushing again – it was starting to become endearing, this earnest bumbling once-general trying her best. Less annoying, more charming instead.
“I only had my brothers growing up,” Sara explained, waving her hands, “I didn't get much chance to make friends so -”
“N-No,” Ayaka laughed, shaking her head, “I didn't mean to laugh, it's just a little unexpected is all. But it's... charming.”
“Charming,” Sara said, looking like she was seconds away from flipping the board over and storming away in an embarrassed huff.

Tengu Juurai is a peaceful little tattoo studio on the third level of a nondescript building just outside of downtown Inazuma City.
This place is Sara’s heart and soul — she has poured blood, tears, and sweat into this place over the last few years, ever since striking out on her own. It has taken a while, but she is pleased with how all her efforts have paid off. She leads a simple life, guided by creating interesting art that she wants to create and honing her craft.
Fortunately, Kokomi is anything but simple. She's a series of clashing facets mixed into an ocean storm that rolls along the curve of the horizon which follows her smile. Kokomi leaves Sara with a thousand questions as the storm of her existence passes through her shop.
But Sara's job isn’t to find the answers though, she’s just here for the next tattoo — whoever else that might be on... right?

Summary
One would think they'd clash often, her and Ningguang.
Polar opposites, Ningguang is like a polished gemstone, Beidou thinks, her surface hardened and smooth. Pretty to look at but unyielding, almost impenetrable, with edges so sharp she could cut glass.
Beidou herself is like a storm on the sea, her temper flaring and ebbing like its waves. She is quick to anger and quick to forgive, her laugh and enthusiastic.
They do bicker, but rarely actually fight. The trick is of course that what Ningguang says usually goes. Right now she lifts Beidou's chin up, ghosting her lips over hers.
