It was a normal Friday for Weiss, but like so many dominoes a small deviation in the norm leads to so many more and now she has to change schools, get a new phone, and buy a coffee shop to burn it down. Or maybe just stop being so dramatic.
It was the worst Friday of the semester for Ruby, especially since she couldn't get her eyes unstuck from the Ice Queen who just happened to have saved her and threw a coffee on her today. Maybe it was just the weirdest Friday ever.

Summary
Her cloak whipped as she leapt forward, a cloud of rose petals curling around the room to slam into the back of the CEO’s chair. The VIP let out a surprised grunt as the cloud coalesced back into the form of a tall, lithely muscular woman brandishing a scythe - now folded down into the form of a rifle - who wrapped a single gloved hand around her neck and forced her to bend backwards over her desk, unbalancing her and causing heeled shoes to scrabble at the ground for a second as she tried to get her footing at the awkward angle. Without losing her grip on the shorter woman’s throat, the Huntress brought the muzzle of her rifle up to press obliquely against her Prey’s temple. With her prize quite literally in the palm of her hand, the Reaper’s lips split in the baring of teeth.
“Oh noooo, whatsoever will I do,” Weiss said, voice in a flat, uninterested monotone, “the nefarious rogue huntress has cut through my guard and now I am at her mercy. Truly, the day is lost.”

“That was just a movie Yang, and besides she looks sweet.” as if to punctuate how wrong Ruby’s statement was, the white cat hisses, rising up on it’s hackles. “Here kitty kitty~” She shifts lower, crawling under the porch fully, and the cat shifts at the same time, ready to make a run for it. “Shhh, no it’s ok kitty.” Ruby coos, moving slowly to the back corner the small cat has nearly burrowed into.
“Ruby don’t! It’s going to attack you!”

Ruby leaned up, back arching, pushing herself into Weiss. “Why don’t you show me?”

The grand honor of hosting the tournament of mages fell to the mighty city of Vale and everybody knew exactly what that meant: The week of festivities would be opened by one of House Xiao Long’s infamous celebrations.
There was no way one of those would end in anything but flames and yet, Weiss couldn't suppress a smile looking at the gilded invitation, enchanted in a way that made the house's sigil dragon coil in an entrancing pattern over its back.
Unfortunately, she didn't take the delicious overseas wine and Yangs uncanny ability to casually say exactly the right thing in exactly the right tone to strike one's competitive spirit into account.
Not only did the night end in flames, it ended in a bet with her beloved on who would win a full fledged fight.
And what place would be better to settle that than the tournament?Behold one of the most anticipated fights of the tournament! The quarter final of the century!
