Summary
“Dahyunnie,” Mina says, strained, “please do not be offended at what I’m about to say, but if I’m not blunt you will never understand what I’ve been trying to do this whole time,” Dahyun gives her a small, uncertain nod, “you are the dumbest, most dense person I have ever met.”
At this Dahyun squawks indignantly, but Mina holds a hand up and continues. Dahyun quiets but still looks annoyed.
“I am trying to flirt with you,” Mina says, meeting Dahyun’s eyes, holding her stare boldly. Dahyun’s gaping at her, and she’s opening and closing her mouth like a goldfish, eyes as round as saucers. Mina trudges on bravely.

Summary
One minute, she was settling down, a glass of sake in hand and a pen in the other because there were stars glinting over the night sky and it made her itch to talk to Jihyo, the next the words Some days I miss you so much I imagine you’re just out on a walk at the beach and all I have to do is wait for you to come back to me were staring up at her. Then she read over the whole thing again — discovered the most ardent of sentences, placed one after another on the page, wrapped up in all of the longing she contained within herself — and buried her head in her hands for almost fifteen minutes because she was mortified.
(Not because the words existed, but because they managed to make their way out. She’s known they’ve been building up inside her from the minute she started revolving around Jihyo like a distant planet quietly enamored with a blazing star)

Later, when her head is no longer clouded over from the saccharine sweet spell that Jinsol puts her in every summer and her skin is no longer burning with the aftermath of an electric shock where Jinsol is touching her, Jungeun can look back on this night, this moment, can turn it over and inspect it from every angle and acknowledge that this is probably the point where she crosses the line from her crush being a whimsical and flimsy thing that she can ignore easily enough, into her crush being an all-consuming wildfire burning in Jungeun’s chest, regardless of the distance between her and Jinsol.
But now, all she can focus on is the delicate features of Jinsol’s face; the curve of her jaw, the slope of her nose, the bottomless brown of her eyes.
The answer is so big, so obvious, it feels like it’s tattooed across her forehead, and it comes out before Jungeun even realises what she’s saying.
“Here,” Jungeun murmurs. “I’d stay right here.”

If some poor soul had told Jinsoul she would be trapped on a broken elevator during what was supposed to be the most significant game of her high school lacrosse career with a penguin suit-clad (and longtime crush) Kim Jiwoo, she would have steered them to wherever the creative writing class meets. But reality is unpredictable and unforgiving. And whatever mystery hat the universe just pulled names and scenarios out of, Jinsoul’s not sure. But the current unlucky situation the two girls have found themselves in is certainly real—really real.
It’s a tragedy, too. Worn-in blue cleats should currently be planted on damp grass not unwillingly rooted on the cold vinyl flooring of the cramped second-floor elevator. Man, Jinsoul’s coach is seriously gonna murder her with an axe.

She doesn’t know anything anymore because there's no way that Jinsoul — Jung Jinsoul, her best friend for over a decade, of which approximately half of that time Jungeun has been in love with her for, and who has never been anything but painfully, torturously heterosexual — is suggesting what Jungeun thinks she’s suggesting.
