“2154. Are you okay man?" Norm answers.
No Jake is not okay. He is nearly 16 years in his past, right when everything started to go wrong. Why is he here, how is he here? He wants to break down but he can't because this shit is real and maybe just maybe he can start to atone for all the sin he has brought to this world.

Quaritch rested his shoulder against their hut. His head tilted. Watching his mate and daughter. Varang tirelessly practices with her, and despite that, their girl is defiant, no matter her lack of words.
"You must be strong, little one. Remember you are the fire. Shoot the shot. Speak, scream, if you have to." Varang loomed over Atarangi, her hand holding her elbow, the other balancing her daughters bow.
Quaritch had yet to teach her how to use a gun. he wasn't sure he wanted to introduce her to one, just yet, until she was older. He may have integrated fully into Mangkwan clan after the sea dragons fall, but even someone like him, a warrior, former colonel, knows when to stay away. Varang on the other hand, had other ideas.
The girl's face scrunches up, bow lanced.
The arrow pings, but there are no words, only a shot gasp and a thud. The blood of one of the Mangkwan pooling on the barren ground, swimming around her small feet.

In the aftermath of the war against the RDA and the ash people, no one is okay. Jake's wound isn't healing. Lo'ak and Spider are missing. Tuk is quiet. Neytiri is bitter. Kiri is worried. Jake doesn't know how to fix things with his family. He's a Marine; he understands action, not the heart. But it's not enough this time.
After his self-inflicted fall into the void, Quaritch is still alive...and he's hiding out from the RDA. He needs a plan to get back into the good graces of the General (if she's alive). Bringing Sully to the base, scalped and dead, seems like a good place to start.
But neither of them are prepared for what happens when they're alone together.
