Summary
The next few days were filled with Lance informing everyone, multiple times, of their “new” friendship. “We’re friends now, did you hear? Keith and I are friends.” Over and over, big smile, loud voice. Looking between Keith and whoever he was telling like he expected a round of applause. Or confetti. Or a parade. What he usually got was somebody making a crack about bonding moments, which prompted a tight, put-upon sigh on Keith’s end. And Lance would look at him fondly, and Keith would have to bite his cheek to distract himself from how much he wanted Lance to lean over and kiss him.

Whatever crazy visions Lance is apparently having enter the very forefront of his thoughts. First row, VIP-tickets with a meet-and-greet, kiss on the cheek included, the whole package. It’s like a dam inside his mind breaks.
Keith’s inky black hair shines, flecks of red and the nasty purple streaked into it, his skin nearly glowing, his smile blinding with the slightest sliver of his chipped incisor showing, and have his eyes always been this intensely striking? Have his shoulders always looked this broad?
In the light, Keith looks more beautiful than ever.
Lance’s stomach sinks with the realization. He thinks he’s gonna hurl. He’s going to throw up everywhere. He’s gonna–
or: Lance gets bitten by a love bug. There’s no way in hell he would ever be into Keith like that.

Summary
And Keith imagines, thanks to the creativity and hopefulness his intoxication tends to bring, a life where he’s this satisfied with life all the time. A reality where Lance only ever looks at him with that soft look from earlier, and that cinnamon twang of eggnog clings to his nostrils every day as Lance envelops him between folds of warmth on the regular. A world where annoying coworkers are the last thing on his mind, because Lance calls him things like ‘love,’ and in a world like that, office drama is the most trivial thing in the world.

Keith has no intentions of attending their office's Christmas party. And he definitely has no intention of getting wasted. And yet, he does. And for some reason, Lance is there, making this Christmas season a lot more tolerable than Keith initially anticipated.
