It was silent after the ringing. Him and his mother made eye contact, her eyes wide, already filled with tears."Tommy, she pleaded, her voice slightly breaking. "Tommy, Theseus, wait-"
Tommy couldn't. He wanted to so badly, to wait until his mom made excuses for this and get drunk. He wanted to wait until he had to carry her to her bed and hug her as tightly as possible. He wanted to wait.
But he couldn't.
