Summary
Dark gets…weird, sometimes.
He has been for all the years they’ve been together.
Every few months, he’ll start pulling away more, start hiding in his room or going out on his own, his hands will start to shake. It builds up slowly, slowly, slowly, until they’re barely even interacting.
And then he’ll snap, and after that? He’ll be normal again. (At least for a little while.)
Chosen remembers the first time like it was yesterday.

Summary
In the aftermath of The Showdown, Orange decides to stay with Chosen in the outernet in hopes of trying to utilize powers he doesn't understand. He and Chosen struggle to grasp the concept of family and brotherhood, and their clashing personalities certainly aren't helping. They're both stubborn enough to keep trying, though.
The world unfortunately keeps on turning, and past events and emotions have a way of catching up to the present in ways that neither brother is fully prepared for. They both realize that life is more dangerous than either of them want it to be, but if they don't learn to anchor themselves against it, they might lose themselves in the storm.

The little gadget didn’t seem any different from when Tails used it last, though he surmised it wasn’t entirely too long ago they had used it -Tails did like to tinker with things he had already made. He clearly hadn’t with this one, yet the black screen blinked with green lines, triangulating an area a certain distance away, pulsing with numbers that didn’t make any sense to Sonic.
“Those are some big numbers,” Sonic noted, glancing questioningly at the fox.
“Yeah,” Tails agreed, eyes wide. “The exact numbers we saw when we were looking for Shadow.”
Sonic’s eyes went wide too, “Wait, you mean…”
“If the tracker is correct,” Knuckles grunted, “the more impressive hedgehog could be alive.”
Or, Shadow is alive and being hunted by GUN, Sonic and Co. arrive just in time to save him but not before Shadow is knocked unconscious. Shadow expects to be waking up back with GUN, trapped and alone and probably in stasis again, when he does wake up it is... not that.
