The answer didn’t come quickly, and it stung. The hesitation stung. Because why would he ever be there.
To Lance, Keith was nothing. Lance already had a best friend, Hunk. Lance already had his eyes on somebody, Allura. And Keith fit nowhere in that equation. Keith was the guy that Lance used to hate but now tolerates.
