Summary
It is stupid of Nico to even give Lewis the chance to notice.
The hot water kettle is just a bit too heavy at breakfast one morning and Nico loses his grip. Lewis is next to him at the buffet table of the hotel and catches it out of reflex; Nico knows better than to think it’s kindness. He stares at where Nico’s fingers are still refusing to cooperate.
"What happened to your hand?"
"Nerves" - Nico answers with a shrug, glad for the double meaning in the English phrasing.

Summary
2014 was supposed to be the season everything came together for Lewis Hamilton; his 2nd championship on the way, this was his year. But of course, then there's Nico fucking Rosberg, who's here to ruin everything. What began as a friendly rivalry turned into a year-long emotional torture that's would unleashed within their hotel rooms. Lewis is manipulative petty brat, Nico is a possessive fucker. Either of them can win the championship or their personal fucked up power/mind games. Or they can have each other. But not both.
It's basically a slow-burn (like real slow) childhood-friends-to-enemies-to-lovers. There's championship sabotage, Lewis using other drivers as jealousy bait, and Nico just doesn't wanna keep getting hurt by Lewis' games. They are two men who are obsessed with each other but too stubborn to admit what they want - until it's nearly too late.

"Hey." Ed reaches across because it's the only thing that feels right. He grasps Stede's wrist and smoothes the pad of his thumb across his knuckles. Stede stops fiddling with his ring and looks up at him, wide-eyed. "This isn't Captain shit. This is God shit. Are you God?"
The room is blank with silence.
Gently, Ed repeats, "Are you God, Stede?"
Stede's voice is thin and high when he answers, "I'm not God."
"And is God here, in this room?"
Comically, Stede looks around like he might find God perched on the edge of his desk, or pulling books from his shelves to examine the spines.
"He's not," Stede concedes.
"That's right, mate. Stupid bugger doesn't associate himself with pirates."
Or: The Revenge has been becalmed for six days. Ed has bigger things to worry about, like sharks and being in love.
