“...Your team captain is Choi San?” Wooyoung asked, barely able to hear his own voice as his heartbeat drowned out every other sound.
“Our team captain is Choi San.”
Well, shit.
As teenagers, whether as teammates or best friends, Wooyoung and San had been inseparable. Which was why, when the lines of their relationship finally bled until they blurred together while traveling for a championship weekend and their euphoria gave out immediately to complete disaster, Wooyoung is left heartbroken, confused, and ashamed.
Now, having spent a few years struggling to get scouted to a collegiate team, Wooyoung is finally feeling some peace when he’s confirmed for one of his top schools. Peace that is completely shattered on the first day of training when the star center and team captain is none other than his own estranged ex-best friend. San is over eager to reconnect but Wooyoung is more than cautious knowing his heart and his future are on the line if whatever he once felt for San affects the team or if the truth about their past makes it out.

Face heating up, you snap your head away and hide behind the curtain of your hair. Smirking at your reaction, Caleb continues,
“Don’t worry,” His voice is lower, breathier, and it shoots straight through you. “I know you don’t have any experience.” Caleb leans closer to you, eyes wide and mocking. “Would you even know what to do?”You’ve been accepted into the Deepspace Hunter Academy and Caleb comes back from Skyhaven to help you get your new apartment set up.

She studied Caleb’s expression as she slowly slid her finger down his abs. There it was; his look of surprise, the slight hurt, the desire. Her finger stopped just before the waistband of his pants. “Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.”
Without warning, she poked him hard enough to draw out a surprised sound, then immediately turned back to the kitchen sink to continue washing dishes. Caleb was quick to follow, caging her against the countertop and breathing a low threat into her ear.
“What's this about not being able to take it? Was that an invitation or were you just playing dirty?”
She tried to ignore him, picking up a plate and grabbing a sponge. But her body betrayed her, a flush spreading over her cheeks. A whimper even slipped past her lips when he ghosted his hand over her waist.
Caleb chuckled in that breathy, almost condescending way. “Playin’ games with me now? Okay. Let’s see how long you can last, princess.”

You giggle and cup Caleb's cheeks. “Pretty.”
“Hm?”
“…eyes are pretty.” You lean in and kiss just above his right eye. “… my Caleb is pretty.”
“And you’re drunk, pipsqueak.” His tone is practical, yet you sense something beneath it, a tension, or even anger. You pout and tap your foreheads together.
“… don’t be mad at me.”
“I’m not mad at you.” He strokes your hair; touch gentle. “I’m just plotting what I’m going to do to the person who gave you those drinks. I’ll need names, you know.”
“…no.” You kiss him again, this time above his left eye. “… you get mean.”
“And whose fault is that?”
You blink, goosebumps spreading down your spine. Something is wrong with him. You wonder if you’re hallucinating, because the way he looks right now is nothing like the boy you know. But it’s still Caleb, hallucination or not, and he would never hurt you. Never grip your waist too hard like he’s doing now. Nor would you ever consider doing what you’re about to do.
(In which a high-school aged MC was given alcohol and cute, angsty shenanigans happen. Both characters are underage and nothing past kissing happens. Dubcon consent tag is for MC, not Caleb)

Phthia is the land of hail and snow, and this is what they all know, but on Mount Pelion it's always spring. It's like Achilles belongs there. 'The Flame of the North' they call him, for his fire-gold hair; once he goes, Patroclus thinks, all things swift and beautiful and bright will be gone with him.
Perhaps in another life, if Patroclus fell to his knees and begged, Achilles would take pity on him and stay, or ask him to come with him. But this is not this life. In this life, Patroclus hasn't the power to change... anything.
Or: Achilles is the young Prince of Phthia, Patroclus is his squire, in a story where they come together, come apart, then find each other all over again.
