Summary
At an overnight stop in the saloon of a nowhere town, wanted outlaw Vash the Stampede runs into an old friend in need of help. His friend, Marta, left the safety of Ship Three over a decade ago and has since moved to her wife's hometown and started a family. However, the town sits atop a large freshwater aquifer, one of only a few in No Man's Land, and a group of water barons in a nearby city have set their sights on it. With hired guns harassing the town and legal options running out, the threat violence will be brought down on this town like a boot on a throat grows every day.
Nicholas D. Wolfwood knows Vash will run headlong into the brewing fight, and he also knows he'll follow Vash into it. He knows Vash will trust Nicholas to guard his back. Like Nicholas is someone worth trusting. He'll follow Vash anywhere, even to his end.

The things that make Vash who he is are so disparate and contradictory and so, so human that Wolfwood forgets on occasion that he isn’t: it’s only when Vash doesn’t eat for days and seems none the worse for it, or when he plucks the pin feathers that sprout on occasion along his hairline that Wolfwood is reminded that, despite all their hours together, a yawning chasm still stretches between what he knows and what there is yet to discover about the Humanoid Typhoon.
The gauge of what is normal and what isn’t for Vash uses metrics that Wolfwood cannot even begin to attempt to define, but about a month into their sojourn to JuLai, some time between run-down rest stops and no-name towns, Wolfwood begins to notice that something about Vash seems… off .- Language:

Summary
As easy as it usually is to read Vash, he’s not typically very keen on explaining himself. Wolfwood asks no less than five times between waking up and leaving the hotel what’s got such a pep in Vash’s step, but he only starts to understand as they enter the diner, greeted by pink and red balloons, romantic jazz on the radio, and a fake flower on every table.
Wolfwood groans. “Really? You’re this excited over Valentine’s Day?”
“What did you expect?” Vash retorts—and really, what did Wolfwood expect? “It’s a holiday all about love! Of course I like it. Morning, Marie!”

Summary
Wolfwood, despite being a man of the cloth, is not one to grovel or beg. He prays, yes, but even that’s a rare occasion for him. Of course it would be his charge, the aptly named ‘humanoid typhoon’, that would properly bring him to his knees. Vash is tied up in front of him, a gag in his mouth and harsh, biting rope around his wrists.
The fight he’d put up as the hunters grabbed him was weak, nowhere near the strength Wolfwood knows Vash is capable of. Probably because Vash was worried about hurting them. He is an idiot, in Wolfwood’s opinion.
The fight he’d put up was much, much fiercer. He scratched and punched and kicked, anything but pulling out the Punisher, because, whether he likes it or not, he loves Vash and can’t bear his disappointment. So he ends up on the ground, in the end. Not bound, but being held down by someone probably three times his size in every way but height.

Summary
Dazai, in a moment of curiosity (and perhaps questionable judgment), stumbles upon a website selling sex toys that can be linked to a person in real time. Naturally, he buys one for himself, purely for research purposes, of course.
Unfortunately, he's out of the country when the package arrives. Even more unfortunately, Chuuya is the one who receives it. Hoping for some prime blackmail material, Chuuya tears open the box… only to find the toy inside.
One thing leads to another, and Chuuya - blissfully unaware that the device is synced to Dazai - decides to put it to good use. Meanwhile, miles away, Dazai is abruptly, helplessly, and very publicly experiencing the consequences of his impulse purchase.

“What do I think?” He asks lightly.
“Yeah,” Dazai leans back a bit and presses a socked foot into Chuuya’s hip. “Don’t you wanna fuck me, Chuuya?” It’s asked innocently. It feels like jabbing a finger into an open wound.
Chuuya blows his smoke to the ceiling despite Dazai tilting forward and opening his mouth. Dazai makes a little tcht sound at him.
“You want to fuck me?” Chuuya asks.
Dazai doesn’t drop his eyes. “I trust you.” He repeats.
Chuuya had asked Dazai once how many times he thought you could break a person before they stopped trying to put themselves back together, stopped trying to pick up the pieces and left themselves shattered.
Depends how cruel you are, Dazai had answered after a long moment, you can still break pieces.
Chuuya is pieces and his edges are sharp.

“That’s the best you could negotiate it down to?” Ranpo asked once Fukuzawa was done explaining the contract, a slight edge to his voice and Dazai already knew exactly what he was thinking of: the contract was pretty much foolproof on Mori’s end. When someone went in, they might as well be stuck.
“Mori’s initial plan involved multiple rounds of physical and psychological torture to manufacture loyalty to the Mafia,” Dazai added in, feeling a bit of pity for Fukuzawa.
“And how do you know that if this is the first we’re all hearing about this?” Yosano asks and Dazai’s smile turns bitter.
“Mori, I’ll give you the pleasure of answering that.”
“Thank you,” He says smoothly before standing up. “I’ve decided the best course of action is to take Dazai Osamu back to his home in the Port Mafia.”

“Dazai, what the fuck is this?”
Brown eyes, still cloudy, peered up at him as if the words hadn’t even been comprehended in Dazai’s mind. His head cocked to the side in a silent question and Chuuya moved to push Dazai’s leg up a bit further, bringing it into the light so they could both see properly.
The near entirety of the skin was marred, of course, self-inflicted scars crisscrossing each other, old enough to have turned a faded white, but that wasn’t what he was focused on.
The issue lay in a series of fresh ones. They were scarily recent, probably only a few days old at best, and scabbed over. None looked bad enough to have needed stitches but they were pretty damn close.
Those hadn’t been there the last time they’d done this. In fact, nothing of the sort had been there any of the times they’d fucked since before Dazai left the Port Mafia.

In which Chuuya and Dazai have been having casual sex for years and all of that is fine until Dazai relapses for the first time since leaving the Port Mafia.

Some said he was a great big monster, with sharp teeth and claws. Others said he was just a man, though an unkind one. Dazai didn’t know which version he’d prefer.
Kunikida, his escort, is waiting, arms crossed. “You’re late. We’re behind schedule.”
Dazai frowns and whines, “It’s my wedding day. At least let me have this.”
Kunikida’s eyebrows knit. “Wedding day? Where did you get that idea?”
“It’s more romantic that way.”
A weird look passes over Kunikida’s face, almost pity, and it makes Dazai sick to his stomach, but disappears soon enough. “If that’s… what you want.” Kunikida clears his throat. “Let’s go.”

And power, Dazai knows, is an odd thing for the slug. He likes it, he’s good with it. But it leaves him lonely. That’s what happens when you’re ungrounded. Able to go up and up and up, unbound by gravity. But above, where no one else can follow, all you’ll find is solitude. How ironic for Dazai’s isolating ability to bring him down, away from that, and back to him.
Or, a study in power, the tendency to dehumanise it, and one guy who is just really really weird about it.
