Unfortunately, he didn't account for the possibility the AI needed him just as much, or even more. The AI companion was lonelier than he was and he didn't plan on letting Mob go.

"Can't or won't." Mob followed right after, finally cracking one eye open to look up at the figure.

Summary
Verity and Mob would always be connected by a string of obsession and possessiveness even if one would never admit to this. The rope that ties their wrists together, holding the same red fruit of temptation that all sinners take to bite due to the temptation being stronger then their own will. Verity would never admit that Mob was his fruit of temptation that he was always willing to sin for, for the feeling could not be describe with a mere word such as 'obsession' but rather deeper.
