Summary
“I don’t want to turn back because it makes you uncomfortable,” Verity says shakily as he gives Mob an afraid look. Mob flinches internally again—this is the first time he’s seen that face on Verity, and he isn’t sure what to feel.
All this time, he’s imagined seeing fear in Verity’s face would be nice, that it would feel like he’d won, because that meant it wasn’t just him in this relationship who felt scared. Verity too.
But this was more like a bitter taste in his mouth than success. “I didn’t mean it like that, Verity. You can turn back if you want, what the hell?” Mob says.
“But you do mean it like that. You feel more comfortable when I look like this instead of my original form… Kinder, too.” The last two words come out weak and soft from Verity, and Mob physically flinches at that, moving back.
Mob always seems to like Verity looking human than not. So who is Verity to deny him that want of his?
AKA: transforming into any other form than his ball form hurts Verity a lot and turns him incredibly vulnerable, but since Mob preferred him to look human. He pays that danger no mind.

Mob taking his own life just to get away from Verity's watchful gaze. But Verity is nothing if not persistent. He crossed boundaries of life and death, ignoring the cost, ignoring the dark corruption eating at his own soul, just to drag Mob back home.
Now, Mob is back, but he is a shadow of his former self. Unable to walk without stumbling into Verity’s waiting arms, unable to eat without Verity guiding his hands, Mob lives in a state of perpetual hypervigilance. He is terrified of the man standing over his bed, yet utterly reliant on him for survival. Verity doesn't mind the fear. In fact, he prefers it.
It keeps Mob right where he belongs.

Mob is a lonely college student. When he receives an email for an AI companion software, he figures it couldn't hurt to try. Unfortunately, he didn't account for the possibility the AI needed him just as much, or even more. The AI companion was lonelier than he was and he didn't plan on letting Mob go.
Was he even just an AI companion, or something else more sinister and real?

"Can't or won't." Mob followed right after, finally cracking one eye open to look up at the figure.

Summary
Verity and Mob would always be connected by a string of obsession and possessiveness even if one would never admit to this. The rope that ties their wrists together, holding the same red fruit of temptation that all sinners take to bite due to the temptation being stronger then their own will. Verity would never admit that Mob was his fruit of temptation that he was always willing to sin for, for the feeling could not be describe with a mere word such as 'obsession' but rather deeper.

Summary is just idk or this: Verity is used to keeping his head down, getting his work done, and staying out of unnecessary trouble.
Mob seems determined to make that difficult.
Whether it's choosing the seat beside Verity in lectures, appearing at the most inconvenient times, or somehow turning ordinary conversations into arguments, Mob has a strange habit of finding his way into Verity's life.
Neither of them quite understands when rivalry becomes friendship.
And neither is prepared for how much can change once someone becomes impossible to ignore.
Between late lectures, quiet dorm rooms, ridiculous arguments, unexpected friendships, and moments neither of them knows how to explain, university life becomes far more complicated than either expected.
Maybe some people aren't meant to remain strangers.
