Summary
It wasn’t long till she began hearing a cacophony of distressed voices coming closer to her and Pomni. Jax turned her head as much as she could, seeing an array of new colorful blurs enter her vision. While her eyesight was still clouded, she knew exactly who those colors belonged to. That wasn’t the part that confused her.
What confused her was why they were all fussing over her. She didn’t end up abstracting. Sure, she felt like utter hell, and it was a miracle she was able to stay half awake, but she was alive.
They didn’t have to stay; after how she’d treated them, they shouldn’t care about her.
Why did they care?

A month has passed ever since Caine came back to the circus and became an equal amongst them all. Everyone is doing awesome and they’re all friends! However, guilt, regret, and anger slowly build up inside them as time goes on—and not everyone knows how to prevent themselves from snapping.
On the other hand, Caine and Kinger found a way to de-abstract past characters, but it’s a gamble of who will come out. Some members may come out at the perfect time, but some might not be ready to go face on with people they once knew.
And…the blue AI is certainly not happy about being stuck in a box, and it wants to show everyone that—especially Caine…

Willow exhaled, resting her temple against the glass and closed her eyes. Hunter didn’t believe for a second that she would fall asleep, as her body remained coiled with tension.
“He just...” She whispered. “...wanted to see this world so much.”
Hunter could see it in that smile, in those weary eyes, hear it in her heavy voice.
Willow was absorbing Gus’s burdens to lighten his load. It was quite possible she was doing the same with everyone who surrounded her.
This left her own burdens neglected.
He understood how it felt to devote your entire self to the monsters that plagued the life of someone else. It withered away every fragment of yourself that belonged solely to you.
“Like you wanted to see the rain.” Hunter reminded her.
It must be a little bittersweet for Willow too.
(The kids' first night in Camila Noceda's home. A late night conversation between Hunter and Willow, a pair of insomniacs who aren't very good at talking about how all of this is affecting them.)
