    Seonghwa stared at the outstretched hand, then at Hongjoong’s confident expression. His conviction made him want to trust the man, and if he truly thought he was up to par for the challenge, then who was Seonghwa to say he wasn’t? It was obvious that there were sides to Hongjoong that Seonghwa didn’t know and hadn’t seen.

    Finally, he took the hand, giving a shake. “How romantic. I suppose I could give you a shot,” he relented, accepting Hongjoong’s proposal with his own impish smile.

    Wooyoung grinned, grabbing at Yunho’s arm from where he was sitting. “I think this is going to be real fun to watch.”

    Hongjoong squinted, reaching out to press his fingertips against the substance. It clung to his skin almost instantly, fine and sparkling under the light. He rubbed his fingers together, watching as the glimmering specks stuck to his skin.

    "Glitter?" he muttered under his breath, confused.

    Why would a squirrel bring in glitter? His gaze flickered towards the various baking decorations his staff had packed for him. There were small pouches of colored sugar, tiny jars of edible pearls, and an assortment of decorative sprinkles. He frowned, glancing between them and the glitter now coating his fingers.

    Had he spilled some earlier without realizing? That had to be it. He shook his head slightly, brushing his fingers off against his shirt before exhaling deeply.

    “Maybe I’m just more tired than I thought,” he muttered to himself.

    “They said I lied,” Hongjoong said, remembering the looks on the guards faces, the way one of them had punched him in the gut and threatened to make him regret lying.
    “Did you?” omega asked. There was no curiosity in the voice, like he was asking the question just to entertain Hongjoong or be polite, not because he actually cared for the answer.
    He grinned. “Well, yeah. Had I told them that I’m a pirate and I actually had robbed the facility moments ago, I’d be heading straight to the gallows.” Getting hanged really wasn’t in his plans that day. “Are you going to tell me what landed you here?”
    “They say,” the voice replied, mimicking his tone, “I stabbed someone.”
    “Did you?”
    “If I did,” the omega said, “he was a nasty alpha and deserved it.”

    OR: Hongjoong meets Seonghwa in a prison cell. They're supposed to part the moment they've escaped, but life, as it happens, has other plans. Having a deadly omega on his ship might be the worst and best thing that ever happened to him.
