The students of Gotham Academy were confused. It was International Friendship Week, and it was Gotham’s turn to host. Except no one wanted Gotham to host, not even Gotham! So the Directors of the Friendship Conference decided that it was in everybody’s best interest to skip the City of Crime and go straight to the City of Lights. Everyone thought that it was the perfect idea! Except for Paris. The Gothamites couldn’t help but laugh and scoff at the Parisians insistence that Gotham would be a much safer place than Paris, and nothing should change. And everyone, even one Damian Wayne, was thrilled when the petition went through, and they boarded the plane for Paris.

She pulled herself over to the intercom and took a deep breath before pushing the button. “He-hello?”
“Kagami! I’m here! I’m so excited!” There was some non-verbal squealing. “Are you ready?”
“Actually…” Kagami felt like she had bits of plastic foil stuck in her throat. “There will not be a wedding today. Thank you for coming, but I don’t need your help.” She tried to keep her voice level and relaxed, but it cracked halfway through the last sentence and she hoped Marinette would take the hint and leave. Because she knew she couldn’t patch her voice back together again.

Kagami was supposed to get married today. But her husband-to-be has just sent a text that he won't be coming, and refuses to answer her calls. And now Marinette is knocking at the door, excited to support Kagami on her big day. Which now won't be happening.
Or... will it?
