Summary

Summary
David had always heard that this city made men into monsters. He didn't think they meant it literally.
Gloria Martinez had stolen a top-secret sample from the corpse of an AWOL scientist. She had been hunted down and assassinated for it. David should have died with her. He didn't. But that did not mean he came out unscathed. Whatever his mother had stolen had changed him; made him something else.
He wasn't sure why these people were willing to slaughter his mother over one vial, but he wanted answers. And he had a feeling that whatever had changed him—this "Blacklight"—would give them to him.

Summary
David, the street punk who gave Smasher a run for his money. A romantic taken too soon because he emulated a moron with the emotional IQ of a -raw- potato. Trauma doesn't just delete if you press an undo button and retain memories and experience. Lucy wasn't quite sure what brought her to Night City after escaping from a secret underground Arasaka facility. She knew that the smart thing would have been to head to the nearest city to disappear rather than the fabled 'City of Dreams', however, fearing that may be the predictable decision, she finds herself aboard the NCART one day at the young age of 12.
Night City is no place for a child, however, and when an EMT named Gloria Martinez takes an interest and brings her into her household, Lucy becomes more or less adopted by the Martinez family. With Gloria's son David quickly becoming her closest friend and surrogate brother.
As she grows, however, she will not only have to contend with the dangers of the city alongside family life, but also her changing feelings and emotions towards David as the Martinez household struggles to stay afloat in this cutthroat world...
