What little air hadn’t been smothered by the humidity of his flames was sucked out of the room by those words. Something Dabi had never expected to hear. Something Hawks couldn’t possibly mean.
Yet, there he was. Wings bristled, eyes piercing, bathed in bright blue light. Twice’s blood dripped from his hand as he held it out. Not to push him away or attack, but in offering.
Playing both sides has its risks—but also its rewards. When Hawks finds himself inexplicably growing closer to Dabi during his time with the League, he must make a choice: to protect the public or save the villain. He picks the latter. Now on the run, they try to build a new life together. One without villains or heroes, good or evil, or unseen hands pulling invisible strings. One where things are simpler. Shouto kisses Katsuki again and again. Cupping the back of his head with one hand, his fingers curl at Katsuki’s neck. The white part of his bangs flops forward and even the red side starts coming loose from its gel hold.
He presses his whole body against Katsuki’s, holds him there, forcing his back against the other floor buttons. He kisses the corner of Katsuki’s mouth before going down to kiss at his neck.
Katsuki’s whole body thrums with the feeling of him, heat buzzing under his skin. He feels tipsy all over again—laughs out loud.

The Reunion.
Everyone loves weddings, right? Not when their ex-boyfriend who once burned off their wings, declared their love, and effectively ghosted them was reportedly somewhere on the resort.
Who the hell let him out of the mental insitution anyways? And why the hell hadn't someone told him? Hawks should leave. Fly off. Get as far away from him and the wedding as possible, except a small part of him wants to get a glimpse of Dabi - just see him. Or maybe to punch him. Definitely not to kiss him.
Ugh. He absolutely hated the hold the Firecracker had over him and deep inside he knew it could simply take a little spark to reignite their overlooked embers.

Summary
Training with the commission was always intense for Hawks. They expected nothing but the best out of him and gave harsh punishments if they felt he was underperforming. What was left after over a decade of said training was, in their eyes, the perfect hero. This was all Hawks knew before he had gotten the mission to infiltrate the Paranormal Liberation Front, before he met the original League of Villains, before he met Dabi.
The hero latches onto Dabi like the man was a river and he was dying of thirst and has to figure out how to deal with the sudden, foreign feelings. Will these feelings get in the way of his job?
