There were two things Richie would never, in a million years, ever admit to Stan’s face.
Firstly, he was the one responsible for breaking Stan’s bird watching binoculars while using them as a makeshift weapon against a spider. That was arguably the worst offense, and he would take it to his grave.

2D’s heart thumps hard in his chest. His mind was focused on the only place he was certain he'd be safe; the basement, his bedroom, was far away, but he had to get there. He’d be a dead man otherwise.

It's raining.
Usually, that wouldn’t keep Kris from going about their business like normal. Their clothes getting a little wet wasn’t the end of the world, because they could always let them dry on their person or hang them up in the bathroom to air dry.
But they couldn’t let their church clothes get wet. This was the first time they had been to a service in a long while, so they wanted to look nice. Not for themself, but for their mom. It elated her to hear Kris agree to go with her earlier this morning, on the condition they go on their own, which she had cheerfully allowed.

Kris gets stuck in the rain on their way to church and at first, it seems like they're going to be sheltering themself for who knows how long. That is, of course, until they get a little help from a surprisingly reliable friend.
