Summary
Cas is hit with what Dean calls a “fuck-or-die” spell. The Winchesters drive him back to the bunker at full speed, but he’s not going to make it – he needs help NOW. Dean passes the wheel to Sam, and hops into the Impala’s back seat. But there’s only so much pretending he and Castiel can do. If they’re going to fix this problem, they need to stop acting like they don’t want each other, and describe their desires. But quietly. Because poor Sam can only turn the radio up so loud.

One-shot with a single conversation between Dean and Castiel, set in a late-S13-ish world. Gabriel, Cas, Sam & Dean are all living in the bunker together, Gabe's been cracking certain jokes, Sam's found a certain book, Cas is injured and isn’t healing... and it's all making Dean wonder if his angel friend might have some sort of a "bond" with... somebody? Whatever that means.
Maybe it's time for a talk.
(This fic is platonic Destiel, in this case meaning: no smut, Dean's truly straight, and whatever Cas’s "bond" is, it's not sexual. But it's deep, and it matters.)

Summary
A ghost hunt goes wrong, and Dean ends up fighting for his life in an icy river. A certain angel somehow knows he's in trouble and shows up to help, but doesn't have enough power left to warm up Dean. It's just a simple cold night in the woods, but things can go wrong fast at night in the woods, and soon Cas and Dean must each decide what they'll risk to save the other. And they just might end up so exhausted that they accidentally start talking.
Canon compliant; focuses on the Dean/Cas breakup of S15E03, but takes place 2 months later. It's a couple weeks after "Golden Time", S15E06; Eileen has just been brought back; Cas/Dean breakup was 2 mos ago; short FBI phone convo was a couple wks ago. Sam/Eileen implied gently in the background. Warning: NO SMUT and not a totally happy ending yet, but it ends hopefully.
(This fic will probably be rendered irrelevant by canon immediately, but I wanted to put a pin in the map right now, before the show ends, & think through my own take on the possible reasons for all the Dean/Castiel tension of the last two years. And see if I could make it all make sense.)

Summary
Cas is sick and Dean finds a journal that Cas kept about his time alone as a human.
This fic is a retelling of first half of S9 from Cas's POV (via Cas's journal). Lots of Cas angst/loneliness and a correspondingly equal volume of Dean guilt. Sick fic, hurt/comfort, journal fic, and a Christmas fic too.
NO SLASH but the entire thing features a strong Cas/Dean friendship.
Destiel readers: This entire fic can be read as pre-Destiel (or not, as you prefer), and if you would like to read it that way, I also wrote an optional, explicit, Destiel epilogue chapter just for you guys. :)
