Season 3B/Missing Year Fic. The inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest have returned after many years in another realm entirely. As always, things are never peaceful for long, this time with a certain Wicked Witch of the West looking to cause trouble. Among new friends is a clan of outlaws, their chieftain, and his children who share a peculiar connection to the woodlands they call home.

A/N - I have always felt that OUAT left too many loose threads between Snow and Regina. Not enough of their relationship when Snow was a child was highlighted or even worked through to the depth that it deserved when Snow was an adult, in my opinion. This is my take on their story.- Language:

Regina, The Evil Queen, thought the plan was relatively simple. Get King Lear of Sherwood the thief, Robin Hood, and receive Snow White, the rebel princess, in return. She hadn't considered that keeping the thief in her custody might change anything. And it didn't. Not until he's tasked to kill her, at least.
Robin Hood was a man with morals of steel. And yet, he found himself tested by a woman with no morals to speak of.

My original 2013 summary: Regina groans, pushing herself off the ground. Tiny cuts on her palms sting, mud stains the cream night gown she wasn't very fond of anyway. Leaves and twigs embed in her hair. She's stuck, somewhere in the in between, without her Henry, without her everything. Grief and sorrow call all her attention, and she doesn't see the hooded man stalking her from the trees.
If you're joining for the rewrite? 2025 summary: The Curse is broken, and Regina Mills has been dragged back to the Enchanted Forest, a realm that remembers everything she tried to forget. Trapped with Snow, David, and the remnants of their kingdom, Regina must lead a fractured people through the heart of a haunted land. As old enemies stir and the land itself turns hostile, Regina must reckon with the person she used to be, the mother she longs to become again, and the terrifying possibility that she may not survive the journey home. But the forest isn't the only thing that sees her clearly, and sometimes, the way back isn't about magic. It's about the people who choose to walk beside you.

Summary
After Robin and Roland leave for New York, Regina's life begins to unravel. Relationships she had built begin to crumble, and the progress she has made toward her heroic redemption is suddenly called into question. As the evidence against her mounts, it becomes clear that the only way to save her loved ones from falling victim to her villainous ways is to leave Storybrooke, never to return.
