Sam's just chilling watching TV one evening when Bucky comes in and stares at him silently for a minute or two before sitting down on the couch. He's pretty close to Sam.
Okay, he's really close to Sam. Like, Sam would be using the word 'cuddling' if it wasn't so bizarre.
"What," he says, carefully not looking at Bucky, and Bucky huffs a sigh.
"Steve's not here," he says as if it's obvious. "Don't make it weird. Just- shut up."

Summary
Things are finally sort of going Sam's way. He's got his team together. The public is slowly warming up to the idea of the Avengers being back, and him being the right Captain America to lead it. His personal life is nonexistent and he's fucking tired but hey all that hard work has paid off and it feels good! Worth it!
It would be perfect if it weren't for Bucky and his edgy team currently doing tricks for Valentina Allegra de Fontaine and having their New Avengers image slapped onto every box of Wheaties. Every phone call with the man he called his friend and partner has just led to a frustrating game of accusations, confusion, and endless circular arguments. Sam doesn't get it or understand why it feels like Bucky is hiding something from him. And it hurts more than he expects.
However, when a mission goes wrong, it puts him and Joaquin directly in the crosshairs of the Serpents. And the only place they can hide is with the very group of people they're supposed to be feuding with.

Sam groans, looking anywhere but at the Winter Soldier and his creamy naked thighs on either side of Sam’s hips, the hem of his air force sweater leaving so much skin exposed that he doesn't even bother with imagination.
“Oh god," Sam swears, "where are your underwear?”
“The floor,” Winter answers, breathless and with a triumphant grin in his voice.
Sam is so fucked.
Bucky is going to kill him. Steve is going to kill him.
But he thinks Winter might beat them both to the punch when he rolls his hips.

Summary
After the snap the avengers (and others) are kidnapped by the TVA and forced to watch their lives on screen.
Sometimes the future is shown, so they can prevent bad things from happening, and other times they react to the past to learn from their mistakes.
In one moment the heroes watch happy and embarrassing scenes, in the other they find out more about the dark pasts and truth from each other.
The purpose of all this is avoiding a universal conflict to take place.
