Summary
Lady Jessica had ensured long ago that the Atreides-Harkonnen union would not come to pass.
Jessica had been fully committed to carrying out the Sisterhood’s plan of producing the Kwisatz Haderach. She was to have an omega daughter with Duke Leto Atreides that would one day wed the now one-year-old alpha, Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Jessica knew that a marriage between Houses Atreides and Harkonnen would be difficult to facilitate and keep civil, but she was confident in her abilities to sway the Duke into agreeing. That was until she fell in love with him. After that, she couldn’t possibly fathom letting any child of theirs marry a Harkonnen. When Paul was conceived, Jessica made sure that he was a male and an alpha. There would be no chance that this union could occur.
That was until, 18 years later, Jessica is told that Feyd-Rautha has somehow transitioned into an omega. On top of that, the Emperor is demanding that Paul and Feyd be wed.
