Summary
For a brief moment, Claudine forgets the thin tightrope they walk, that which provides no guarantee of food and water, shelter and warmth. She had forgotten the self-inflicted need for companionship and revels in that playful glint to Maya's eyes.
They've barely scraped through a month of traveling together, but that maw of loneliness has gradually closed itself up. Days are no longer spent traversing lands in solitude, but are instead filled with talk and banter, discussion and planning.
It's a better existence than the one Claudine had been living the last three years.
The world is a desolate place ravaged by sand. Humans fear one another and do not revel in companionship. Claudine and Maya meet and decide not to kill each other.

Haruka is a warm person.
Friendly (if to a fault), kind, giving. (The latter: even when she does not intend, and Chihaya cannot help but to take what has been proffered—take take take. She should feel greedy, hopelessly so, but Haruka looks at her, smiles, all soft around the edges, like it's a secret, one Chihaya keeps close to her chest, buried in the cracks between her ribs that have since been broken open—
(Haruka smiles, and Chihaya takes those fond things, crams them into the cracks, the grooves, the fractures that bleed willingly and wantingly.)
Chihaya and Haruka are living together in the small, quiet space Chihaya used to inhabit alone. Chihaya begins to understand what it's like to allow the warmth of another person in.

Summary
Byleth is silently led into Edelgard's chambers and pressed delicately onto her bed. Less than a month ago, the both of them were barring swords and axes, cleaving the weapons of their enemies right out of their grasps. Byleth is not accustomed to the gentle way in which Edelgard handles her. It rouses something akin to affection from within her, but even then she is not certain if that is the correct word. It is impossible to know when such a sensation had always been dulled and diluted.
Byleth learns to live with a beating heart the same time that she comes to realize the feelings she harbors for her Emperor.

Summary
When Namaari produces a small, sharp knife from somewhere on her person, Raya blinks. To her further surprise, Namaari turns over their entwined hands and places it in her palm.
"What are you doing?" Raya whispers as Namaari shifts closer and guides their hands up to press the blade into the side of her throat. It's sharp, the edge glinting in the moonlight where it melts into Namaari's soft, vulnerable skin.
"I trust you." Namaari voice is calm, her pulse even where the side of Raya's palm touches against it.
On their way back to Heart after the defeat of the druun, Raya and Namaari discuss their past and their future.
