Summary
“Hello there,” Armand’s voice pulls him out of his scheming. The man, dressed in a bright red shirt and a loose pair of tailored trousers, sits down across from them with a smile bordering on a leer. “I’ve heard you two are running yourselves a little business.”
Athos scowls at him. “Can you keep your voice down?”
“Oh, is it a secret?” he half whispers, leaning in. “Why? France is in the open market. We should all get a chance to bid.”
Aramis doesn’t really know if he’s feeling insulted, flattered, aroused or... seventeen other emotions at the moment, but he’s pretty sure that if Armand doesn’t stop with the goading, Athos will make him stop. That’s why he’s surprised when Athos looks Armand over with interest.
“You want in?” he asks and Aramis can’t believe he’s hearing this right.
Armand’s eyes shine and his smile is predatory. “How much?”
Aramis just stares.

Athos feels blood rise to his cheeks. “One of these days, someone in hearing distance will speak French,” he warns his incorrigible soulmate.
By Aramis’ smile, he can tell that he wouldn’t mind in the slightest.

They both freeze. Thomas in surprise and amusement which quickly turns into curiosity, James in mortification. His eyes fly open and when they land on Thomas, he can see trepidation in them, even panic, but Thomas doesn’t wait to find out if James is afraid of being questioned or if he expects Thomas to be offended, maybe even jealous - and really, James should know him better than that.
He moves his fingers again, brushing that spot inside him, and says: “It’s alright, James. Close your eyes again.”

He’s staring at it as the door closes again. Athos has kept his stuff. For a year, he’s kept his clothes and his books and all the little things he’d brought over from his old flat when he’d moved. It's not over.
Give him time, Porthos’ voice echoes, words he said not for the first time since he’s met Athos.

And so the four of them spend the evening talking, their fellow guards milling around them, and bit by bit, Athos relaxes. The panic that's been gripping his heart ever since he realized the truth hesitantly leaves, as if it doesn’t really know if it won’t be needed again, ready to jump back at any sign of trouble. But there is no trouble. Because whatever the reason, Aramis is mirroring Athos in pretending that nothing is out of the ordinary.
Athos has found the perfect soulmate. One who doesn’t want him either.

Summary
Early summer, 1944. Aramis is an idealistic long-haired bohemian artist, Porthos grew up on the streets of Paris before the Nazi occupation forced him to flee, d’Artagnan the orphaned farm boy who somehow ended up in Northern France with the resistance cell they call The Musketeers, and Athos is missing, presumed interrogated.
They've got enough explosives to put a serious dent in the German war machine, and any day now they’re expecting orders from the Free French government in exile: the allied invasion of Europe is about to begin...

Porthos is trying not to burn pasta sauce when he hears his laptop dinging in the living room. He jerks in surprise, and sauce slops over the side of the pan onto the burner. Right away, it sizzles and starts to smoke, but Porthos barely notices. His heart's somewhere up in his throat. Only one person would be Skyping him unannounced at nine at night, and that would be someone nine and a half hours ahead of him with an unpredictable schedule.

Summary
Athos is looking at him like he wants to eat him, and Porthos and d'Artagnan and Constance are suspiciously quiet, and Aramis is not sure about anything anymore.
He tilts his head, trying to hold onto at the very least his dignity, even as his heart starts a steady thmp-thmp-thmp in his throat. "Athos?"
Athos lifts his eyebrows, the picture of bland aristocratic interest. "Aramis?" he parrots back.
(Only the lightest spoilers for the first episode of Series 3.)
