“We had an hour,” Lan Zhan said. Mildly, flatly, but his words hit Wei Ying like a slap across the face. “And now look at what you’ve done. You made me come in under two minutes.”
“Lan Zhan.” Sobbing, crawling like a dog, not caring how pathetic he looked. “I’ll do anything you ask.”
“Then beg for it.”
Or: Wei Ying enters into a dom-sub arrangement with his coworker, Lan Zhan. They’re a good fit on paper: Wei Ying is an experienced sub, and the only thing Lan Zhan wants is to be edged to the point of delirium. But Lan Zhan’s approval is a slippery, exhilarating thing, and Wei Ying finds his personal feelings getting in the way of his ability to perform.

“You’re in the hospital,” she says. “You were in a traffic accident, and–"
“No, I heard that. But–” Wei Ying glances at the extremely pretty man, who’s just staring at him, completely still. His empty hands hover in the air. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I just wanna go home."
“You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back."
“Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks.
The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room.

Wei Ying gets in a traffic accident and loses six years of his memories, including meeting and marrying the love of his life. This is the story of how he falls back in love with Lan Zhan: quickly, and inevitably.

Summary
Zhuo Yichen has been having strange dreams ever since Ran Yi’s protection disappeared.
Perhaps it’s not fair to call them strange. All dreams are strange to him, now; he’s not sure what’s normal anymore. His brother is there, yes; but so are his colleagues, his enemies, random passerbys from his day. Who’s important enough to appear in a dream? It’s not clear to him. Sometimes he wakes with the hems of his clothes wet, as if he’s wandered; sometimes his head aches, or his heart. He wakes with tears on his cheeks. Is this normal? He has no way to tell.
He feels like he’s in a dream now, walking to Zhao Yuanzhou’s home with two jugs of wine.

Summary
A spark of eagerness flits through him when Chu Wanning looks up through the dark building to catch sight of him approaching. He looks soft like this, much closer to his husband than Mo Ran has seen yet in the mirror. His thin pink lips part in surprise and his eyebrows rise into soft arcs.
“Mo Ran?” He asks quickly shoving himself to his feet. His boots are halfway across the room at the table he clearly intended to sit at but never made it back to. He hurries towards Mo Ran in his little white socks making no sound. “What’s wrong? Why are you back?”
“I…” Mo Ran starts. His mouth is dry. He thought about what he’d say as he searched for Chu Wanning. He wants to say, I wanted to say goodbye. I needed to wish you a happy new year and tell you to stay safe while we’re away, but it’s not what he says. Instead, he stupidly says, “...was worried about my core traveling, and was hoping you’d be willing to help stabilize it.”
