Zuko says there are pockets of rebellion in the Fire Nation, that not everyone agrees with what the Fire Lord is doing. Standing there, Sokka doesn’t believe him. Maybe people protest Ozai, but not enough, and maybe they oppose him, but not enough. This is the street of money in the city of money in this great country of money, and the people are going out to grab a bite with their non-dead children in tow.

Does it matter to the fifteen-year-olds getting drafted for the war effort, the ones the generals of my father’s council call kindling? Does it matter to the—” Zuko cuts himself off, chest heaving, eyes burning. “Does it matter to the Air Nomads?”

Bradley goes to Jake's high school reunion and gains a retroactive crush. Jake, of course, picks up on it.
He’s struck with the realization that in another life, if they'd been in high school together, Bradley would've been just another one of the masses, sneaking peeks at Jake on the football field, hoping for just a smidgen of interest.
The thought makes Bradley swallows the rest of his drink hastily, mortified.

“…Right,” he managed, but it didn’t sound like him. Not really.
“So what? You just want to throw me aside to get with some other guy?”
The words escaped Sokka before he could process what he was saying. Zuko’s face transformed from an apologetic one to an extremely shocked one to instantly pissed-off in a way that made Sokka’s stomach drop.
“What the fuck are you saying, Sokka?” he whisper-yelled, still keeping his voice down for the rest of the group.
Sokka didn’t know what he was saying. He’d consider himself pretty easy-going, honestly. He didn’t get like this. He didn’t do jealousy, didn’t spiral, didn’t-
Except apparently he did. He wanted to fix it. He wanted to take it back and say yeah, of course, it’s fine, we’re friends, whatever would smooth the whole thing over and get Zuko to stop looking like he was about to light him on fire.
But the words didn’t come.

Sokka glanced at him, finally, like Zuko was the strange one in the room. “Like what?”
“Like that,” Zuko repeated, gesturing vaguely with his hand as he finished pulling the sock on. “The ‘beautiful little head’ thing.”
Sokka just shrugged. “Sounded right.”
“That’s not an answer.”
“It is to me.”
