“I’ll be okay.” Adam whispered, “I’m tough as fucking nails, dude.”
“And about as soft as a pillow.” Lawrence said sadly. It wasn’t a jab, it was an acknowledgment of Adam’s true nature. His empathy, his humanity. Something he should’ve lost a long time ago but never did, something he managed to cling onto even in the darkness of it all.
It was an acknowledgment of Adam’s heart.
“Not everyone knows that.” Adam replied, his hand reaching up to grab Lawrence's. He intertwined their fingers, kissing his boyfriend’s knuckles gently.
“They will after this, you know that, right?” Lawrence asked. Adam shrugged.
“As long as Daniel’s okay, I don’t give a shit what they know and what they don’t.” Adam stated.

Summary
