Summary
Much later, Ilya will blame it on everything he did.
He will blame it on his lack of communication with his own husband, on his headspace, lost in the beauty of Shane Hollander, on the circumstances he created. It was solely his fault.
And he will also know, that Shane would disagree and blame himself, would even take more hurt on himself, as long as Ilya was fine.
The truth lies somewhere in between.
Or maybe nobody was at fault and some nights were bound to be a shitshow. But this realization will come much, much later for Ilya.

Summary
Erling Haaland never considered himself a particularly possessive man, not regarding material assets and not regarding people as well. Actually, his friends always said he was way too chill - almost cold-blooded - about these matters. He never understood that instinctive “this is mine!” feeling his friends had described often. Another concept that was alien to him was the thrill of seeing visible signs that someone “belonged” to him. Which was precisely why it was becoming increasingly difficult to explain the wild feelings stirring up inside of his chest every time he saw Jude-fucking-Bellingham, of all people, strutting around in his clothes as if he was made for them, as though wearing them were his God-given right.
Or:
4 times Haaland almost loses it when he sees Jude wearing his clothes + 1 time he actually does because the idiot decided to wear someone else’s.

Summary
Erling stands by his own car for a second too long, keys in hand, and tells himself it’s none of his business. That’s the truth, technically. It just doesn’t feel true in his chest, where something has gone tight and watchful, the way it does on the pitch half a second before he sees an opening nobody else has spotted yet.
Or
There's something not quite right about Jude's new girl. Erling notices.

Summary
“It’s just,” Erling sighed and ran a hand over his face, not knowing how to word it nicely. Fuck it, might as well bite the bullet and get it over with now, if they were already having this conversation. “You’re seventeen, I’m twenty, it’s–”
“The age of consent in Germany, England, and Norway is sixteen.”
He didn’t want to think about why Jude knew what the age of consent in Norway was.
“No–I know it’s legal. It’s just that I’m three years older than you and–”
“Wow, three years, big deal,” Jude scoffed.
“No–stop, Jude, stop interrupting me and let me speak.”
Jude stopped talking, but still had that scorned-puppy look on his face that made Erling’s chest hurt. He hadn’t wanted this conversation to go down like this; hell, he would have never wanted to have this conversation at all, but everyone had to do hard things in life. This just happened to be one of the hardest, but that was saying a lot, considering that he was a professional athlete.
OR
Jude wants more. Erling is worried about the age difference.

Summary
Everyone thinks Jude Bellingham has everything under control.
On the pitch he's one of the best young footballers in the world. Off it, he smiles through interviews, signs shirts, and tells everyone he's fine.
The problem is that he isn't.
As the pressure of football, social media, and impossible expectations slowly become too much to carry alone, the people around him begin to notice. Erling Haaland refuses to let Jude disappear into himself, and with the quiet support of his teammates, family, and friends, Jude begins the longest match of his life: learning that recovery isn't about becoming perfect again.
It's about letting people stay.
