After Theo leaves Vegas and heads home to New York, he finds that everything feels wrong and lonely without Boris — and he’s taken aback when the very same boy from the desert shows up at Hobie’s, coming across the country for him like Theo had fantasized. They spend their days hanging out, seeing the city, adjusting to this new life ahead of them, and figuring out the incredibly blurry confusing thing that is their relationship — (whatever it is).

Set pre-season 5, Will Byers is living in the Wheeler's house. Everyone is stressed out waiting for Vecna's return, and Will is struggling to figure out his confusing friendship and feelings for his best friend, Mike. When one day, he finds an ominous note in his locker, telling him to meet him by Castle Byers.
Note : This takes place in an odd AU timeline, about a month before the events of season 5 vol 1, but some of the early relationships formed - like Robin and Will’s friendship - have happened already, though removed from a world-ending context.

This is a fanfiction story about the characters Theo Decker and Boris Pavlikovsky from The Goldfinch. I have read the book, but most of this will be based off the movie (with details that are canon in the book). I really wanted to see more of the two's deep connection in the film. I feel as though there wasn't enough buildup to their kiss, so I am here to fill in that gap!Theodore Decker, only 13 at the time of his mother's untimely demise. A demise that shook him to his core, unravelling every fiber of his being, every spindle that made up who he was. A demise that was his fault. In the thick of his seemingly never-ending, all-encompassing grief, he meets a peculiar boy with a noticeable accent and a similarly troubled upbringing who makes him /feel/.
