“Just like — It’s chill. It’s nothing, it’s whatever.” He sinks down over his coffee. “Good luck with Munson, or — Yeah.”
He laughs again, slumps over the island. “Jesus Christ. You can’t go around —”
“I know. I’m sorry. You’re just… obvious about it.”
“And you’re obvious about Nance,” he says. He still says Nance, Jonathan realises then that he too is probably never going to get over her. “Fuck me.” Steve sighs.
Jonathan frowns down at his coffee. “Good idea,” he murmurs.
