Twilight lowers his gaze.
"I don't know where you stand in this war, between your job and whatever your personal connections and feelings lie, but I'd like if it was somewhere close to me," Franky swallows and smiles nervously, "I don't even know you, really, unless you're just that honest, but I get the feeling I can trust you."
Twilight aches to tell him to ignore the feeling, because that seems like the right thing to do.
"Sorry, that sounds a little too friendly, doesn't it?" His laugh is oddly warm and makes Twilight want to curl up and die - this isn't fair.
"It's fine."

It had been clear to everybody around him, for quite a while, that Tanaka was in love. It had been clear to those closest to him, for quite a while, that Tanaka was in love with Ennoshita.
But, Ennoshita thinks it’s quite clear that Tanaka is in love with a girl. And also, doesn’t have any interest in ‘getting a girlfriend’, so Tanaka stands no chance either.
And Tanaka doesn’t know how to deal with all this, not yet.

It’s about as interesting as it sounds, and it’s situated in perhaps one of the most annoying towns in the north of England - however, contrary to popular belief, that’s not the worst thing to happen to this school. No, the worst thing to happen to Brumley Comprehensive School was 2020’s new class. Now they’re in year 10, and they’ve only gotten worse.

He glances at her briefly. The empty eye socket catches in the faint moonlight, and the scar etched down his face stands out against his skin, which gets paler every day.
“S’pose you’d just have to leave me down there.” His voice is out of practice, and aches from disuse.
“As if,” Valkyrie scoffs and rolls her eyes, so assured when she says it, like it’s the easiest thing she’s ever done, “Cuz you wouldn’t die, would you? We’d find you in a couple years, holding onto life, if you didn’t come back up first.”
He doesn’t reply, and the certainty previously written all over her drops, so quickly that he’s not sure it was ever there at all.”

Years ago, Stan Pines died under strange circumstances. His body was found, funerals happened, Pa was too ashamed to show up, Shermie too busy, Ma went... so did Ford...
And Ford learned a lot while at the funerals, more than he would have liked to. Like the fact his brother lived out of his car, of all places... At least, the car gave him a way to summon his brother's spirit, to talk one last time! Or it should have. It never worked... Ford kept the car anyways, for old times' sake.
In other news, a little over 30 years later, 13 year old Mabel Pines came back to Gravity Falls a year after her brother stayed back there for an "apprenticeship" with their great uncle Ford or whatever... Meaning she was alone to face their parents' divorce. And even now, her brother ignored her for his "anomalies". No big deal. None at all... Not at all the reason why she tried to leave the home at 1 am, only to be met with a homeless-looking ghost with no memories who decided to haunt her.
At least the nameless ghost is a good friend to prank Gravity Falls with!

Summary
An assumption based on past incidents results in Sampo being tortured for information by the silvermane guard. When the truth is revealed the members of the Astral Express crew step in and rescue the injured Sampo, who is of course totally 'fine'.
Things happen and Sampo becomes an honorary member of the crew thus changing the script as we know it.The story will follow the games normal path through the Luofu, Penacony and all the little side stories in-between but with our dear side character turned protagonist Sampo.
What could possibly go wrong?
