Summary
She's just so tired. Tired of everything, really. J hadn't felt safe in years. Is a little bit of comfort really too much to ask? She's willing to do anything at this point, with how long she's been deprived of care. She'd give up her dignity, her autonomy, anything, if it meant a moment more with Tessa. Surely her morality is worth a few minutes too, right?
Or, I've been thinking too much about jangst and my wholesome Jessa oneshot I've been trying to make has hit a roadblock so you get this instead.

Summary
Years have passed since the event the drones of Copper-9 call 'the Breaking'. Things are peaceful now. The worker drones have begun to expand their colony out into the old, abandoned city, and have been working on cleaning it up and making it useable for themselves. A council has been elected so the decisions aren't all made by one leader. They don't have to fear the murder drones anymore, because they've all joined as part of the colony and have promised to give protection to the worker drones they share the city with.
(Well, all except for one, but she hasn't been seen since the Breaking, so of course that dosen't really matter.)
But not all drones are as lucky. Sure, Outpost 3 is safe, but others are still being hunted. And a certain worker intends to do something about that. Uzi's plan would help to save their surrounding colonies, with very little risk to their own! Now, all she has to do is set it into motion with a scouting expedition to the nearest outpost.
Simple as that.
No complications.
...Right?

Summary
Serial designation J was content with his life. Really, he was. Why wouldn't he be?
He had a job, a purpose, one that was only occasionally terribly dangerous for him. He had friends, although he’d never call most of them that. He had Tessa, the only one of his friends he actually needed. The others were fine, he supposed, if a bit stupid at times, but Tessa was the only one he would openly call his friend. He was given shelter and he was cared for and he was (mostly) safe. There was really nothing in his life to complain about.
So why was he so miserable?
