Summary
Lois Lane remembered her first encounter with Clark Luthor. Much unlike his frivolous display now, the rich boy was frighteningly quiet back then.
It was in 2001 when Lionel hosted one of his little political charity events. Alexander Luthor, being the elder sibling, stood with his father and greeted the socialites as they walked by.
A perfect politician, she thought back then. Lex Luthor has always been great at giving one of those faded smiles that mean nothing — a skill he had in common with the politicians she regularly saw with her dad.
Then her eyes caught Clark, his supposed sibling, in one of the corners, blankly staring at the floor — taken with a snack?
Lois vividly remembered the first moment their eyes met because she had never seen the color blue so… empty before. As if they lived for nothing.
It was a tragedy, she thought, that someone so beautiful — like he was built by the entire Greek Pantheon themselves — could have such sad and lonely eyes.
She loved tragedy. Intrigue was her sin.
