Summary
The most important lesson Melinda May was ever taught in her life is to give a home, a family, to anyone who needs it. It was a lesson she was taught at two years old when Jiaying, someone who was once incredibly important to her mother, gave that to her after her father’s death when her mother decided that she couldn’t be the mother Melinda needed.
After receiving her empathic gift after going through Terrigenesis at sixteen Melinda knew that she wanted to do more to help, not just her people, but all people. So, with her adoptive mothers blessing and support Melinda left Afterlife, and eventually joined SHIELD, never forgetting the lessons she was taught.
As the years go by Melinda finds herself making a home not just for her biological daughter, but for her five adoptive daughters as well, all while growing her extended family to something she could have never imagined all those nights when she cried in Jiayang’s arms asking why her mother didn’t want her.
