Summary
Still alert due to the new change in sleeping arrangements, Buck felt the arm move once more. Oh God. That arm was now brushing against the hem of his T-shirt. Buck felt his breath stutter as Eddie’s arm continued its ministrations. Undeterred by Buck’s shaky breaths, Eddie’s palm and arm slipped beneath the hem of his shirt and lay bare against Buck’s stomach. Oh. God.
Or, Eddie keeps touching Buck, and Buck is losing his mind.

Summary
The thing about Buck and chronic pain is that it doesn't start with the ladder truck. Sure, the bombing makes his leg worse, but—
It starts with showers, and the way his arms sometimes ache too much to clean himself properly; the way he steps out of them, all faint and weak, feeling like he’s actually died. It starts with stairs, and the fact that even one flight leaves his legs worn out like he’s ran a mile, how they make his heartbeat thud in his ears to the point of nausea. It starts with supplements, and how many of them he takes in hopes that they’ll make up for some unknown deficiency and fix it all, and it starts with the continuous disappointment when none of them do shit.
The thing about Buck and chronic pain is that it starts before he even really knows what it is, and it never stops.
Or: Buck, Eddie, and an exploration of undiagnosed chronic illness.

Summary
Buck turns to him with a confused look, just as Eddie runs his fingers through the curls to smooth them out. Buck's head tilts into the touch, his eyes sheeny in the illuminated light of the TV screen as he feels the hair between his fingers. Eddie skips a breath, and they look at each other for just a second, then Buck turns back, and he swears his face is a little pinker than it was before.
Eddie pulls his hand back to his thighs, his fingers tingling from the touch. His hair is soft between his fingers, and Eddie wonders if he pulls his hand to his nose, would he smell his shampoo?
