Summary
“We both need a girlfriend, and we’re both single,” Bela points out, gesturing between them. “So if we pretend—”
“This feels like the plot of a seriously bad rom-com.”
“Because it is.” And that idea is a little exciting, Bela has to say. “Come on! What do you think?"
Or: Bela and Taylor come to the conclusion that fake-dating will solve all their problems.
There's definitely no way this can go wrong.

Summary
She doesn’t sleep.
Not because she’s unsettled, but because she’s too settled. Too still. There’s a warm heaviness in her chest, and it’s not panic. That’s what scares her.
She thinks: God, I could do this every day.
She thinks: I want to do this every day.
She thinks: What if I need her?
But the voice that used to scream run is quiet now. It hasn’t disappeared. It’s just… hushed. Muted under the weight of Kara’s breathing and the way her fingers found Lena’s hip in sleep and haven’t moved since.
OR
Lena Luthor is a bolter. She has rules and lives her life by paradigms she holds onto, dearly. Lovers come (enthusiastically) and go (broken-hearted) and Lena rinses and repeats. And then, inevitably, the universe puts Kara Danvers in front of her and suddenly it's crystal clear - this is her person. This is it. And now, there is nothing - and no one - Lena wants to commit to more.

Summary
Kara says it like she’s reciting an old nursery rhyme. “When the sky turns silver, I’ll meet my soulmate.”
Lena stares at her. Kara takes another bite of noodles. “It’s Kryptonian prophecy. From Rao’s temple. We all get one.”
“And yours includes… color theory?” Lena tries to keep a straight face, which is proving to be more and more difficult with every passing second.
Kara shrugs. “It is very specific.”
Lena presses her fingers to her temples. “Darling... do you even hear yourself right now?”
“It’s not ridiculous,” Kara says. “My mother believed it.”
Lena makes a noise in the back of her throat. “Your mother also programmed a virtual AI to parent you from beyond the grave.”
“She was right about a lot of things.”
“You genuinely think your love life hinges on a cloud pattern?”
“Not a cloud. Light. The refraction has to hit a specific spectrum. A luminous silver, not grey.”
“Oh, well, as long as we’re being precise.” Lena says coolly.
OR
Kara spends years waiting for her prophecy to come true and tell her who her soulmate is. Lena spends years waiting for Kara to become her own prophet.

Summary
Lena looks up.
“The stars are stunning.” She says.
Kara turns her head. “So are you.”
Lena freezes - barely, but enough. A slight shift in posture, the almost-invisible tension of someone deciding whether to absorb or deflect.
Kara smirks.
“Oh my god,” she says. “Luthor, are you blushing?”
Lena turns sharply, but she’s not quick enough to hide the flush in her cheeks. “It’s the cold.”
“Sure.”
“I’m not blushing.”
“You’re emotionally photosensitive.”
“Danvers.”
OR
Kara returns to Midvale for a high school reunion, where she's bound to run into frenemy Lena Luthor. Everyone remembers how Lena used to give Kara hell as editor of student newspaper The Torch, which Kara dutifully wrote articles for. Kara mainly remembers Lena's jawline and precise hand movements and how her eyes shot daggers at anyone who defied her.

Summary
Lena drops her keys, shrugs off her coat, and kisses her without saying hello. Kara makes a soft noise, leans into it, pulls her in by the collar of her blazer like she forgot how to let go.
“You’re in love with me.” Lena murmurs, when they break apart.
Kara grins. “Don’t sound so smug.”
“I’m not smug,” Lena says. “I’m observant.”
Kara hooks her finger through the belt loop of Lena’s trousers. “You’re also mine.”
Lena doesn’t argue.
Later, in bed, Kara turns on her side and watches Lena sleep. Not for long, just long enough to memorize the shape of it again, the small weight of Lena’s arm curled under the pillow, the even rise of her breath.
“You’re gonna kill me.” She whispers.
Lena stirs, eyes still closed, voice low and automatic: “Not before I marry you.”
OR
Sometimes you just know, you know. So when it doesn't work out the first time around, Kara thinks it might work the second time. And if not then, then the third time. Right?
