    It wasn't the work itself that was the problem, but rather... personal issues

    His biggest concerns was Valka, her Bewilderbeast had died in the battle against Drago’s Alpha while trying to protect everyone, and the loss had devastated her. Day by day, her grief seemed to become bigger and bigger, yet, there was a glimmer of hope, something of her remained with she:

    her egg.

    It was the one and only egg a Bewilderbeast would lay in its entire lifetime. Like Valka, the egg seemed to be fading and growing weaker day by day, a decline that probably would be fatal for him. Hiccup tried to help the egg and comfort his mother, but everything kept going wrong. He exhausted every option available to him until only one choice remained, seeking a solution beyond Berk. A mystic island, place of ceaseless blizzards where the snow never stopped and winter reigned eternal, a place from which no one had ever been or ever returned. And to make things stranger, the egg began to react in peculiar ways; it was almost as if... nature itself was answering it? Or was the island calling out to it?

    Astrid’s view of the world changes when she starts seeing illusions of a stranger with white hair after a run in with a traveler. She soon comes to realize this man is not normal in the least and possibly a god.

    The man can see her too but Jack is convinced it’s his minds way of dealing with the loneliness, the winds being his only friend. That changes when they have their first true conversation and she warns him. “It sounded like you’re somehow destined to find us.

    Strange interactions with other mysterious travelers doesn’t make their ties clearer. Even Hiccup meets a stranger who knows too much and calls him “The Heart” as clearly as any of his other titles.
