"Will! Will, are you okay?"
Oh right. He was on the ground on his hands and knees. He was fine, totally fine. He just needed to rest for a moment. He just couldn't remember how to breathe. Once he figured that out, he'd be fine. There was a familiar hand gripping his shoulder gently.
"Are you okay? Will look at me" Mike's tone was bleeding panic as he dropped to his knees in front of him.
Will stared at the ground, the maroon and inky sky was clearing up and sunlight was peeking out. It was scattering over the concrete. He couldn't speak, jaw hanging open as he gasped in insufficient air. He blinked again and winced, the movement blooming the pain further. There were strong fingers cradling his jaw. His head was tilted up, and Mike swore under his breath, his thumb hoovering over his left cheek.
"Talk to me Will, can you walk? We need to get you some help"
OR
The aftermath of destroying the upside down left Will without an eye, but turned his life upside down in other ways. A short story of learning that love is all around you, and that hiding parts of yourself can never last forever. A journey of discovery, freedom and patience. And lots of signals!

Summary
“Knew he had it in him,” she says, curling her fingers in a half wave to Joyce. Joyce, who had been on Mike’s side at first, but now, apparently, is totally fine with the idea of her sixteen year old son dating a grown woman.
Mike can’t control the way his lip curls at that. “Right,” he says dryly. “I forgot how well you know him.”
Robin frowns at him. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
Mike scoffs. “Nothing. It’s just odd, how suddenly you’re, like, obsessed with him. Isn’t he a little young for you?”
Robin stares, and it feels a bit like she’s peeling back layers of his skin to stare down his insides. Like she knows. “You’re not Tammy Thompson,” she says quietly, like she doesn’t expect him to hear it. Her eyes widen, and Mike wonders if she meant to say that part out loud. She does that a lot. What does Will see in her?
Robin and Will are friends. Mike is definitely okay with this.

Mike's never been in a situation more infuriating than this. How's he going to spend the next few months alongside Robin Buckley without strangling her?
Robin has never seen two teenagers more head-over-heels for each other than Mike and Will. Can they just get their heads out of the sand already?
Steve has never been more nervous around a teenage boy. Something about Will makes him feel guilty.
(Or; In the oncoming apocalypse, Mike and Will are forcibly 'buddied up' with Robin and Steve. It gets worse before it gets better.)
