The door shut with finality. There was a long, stunned pause.

That’s what he told his team this morning when he came to work with ‘morning sniffles’. The weather had been chilly and maybe he should’ve been better at listening to himself all the times he’s reprimanded Christopher for not wearing enough layers—or all the times he’s reprimanded Buck for the same thing, for that matter.
That’s what he said before getting completely knocked on his ass by whatever virus he caught.
Buck and Eddie caring for one another so effortlessly that it becomes second nature.
