Illario loved being able to use blood magic. It made things so much easier. Things like drawing the woman he was obsessed with from her companions so he could speak with her, getting her into his room so they could talk without interruptions from his cousin. It didn't matter that he could only get the compulsion of his blood magic to last for a finite amount of time. An hour was all he needed, it would give him the time to get her away from everyone else.
And then, after some drinks she would see reason even without the blood magic.
He never thought for a second that his blood magic would last beyond the first drink.
