Summary
Elytrians were literally unheard of, having been hunted to near extinction for their feathers and caged songs. Unlike Avians who can float gently down to earth from incredible heights, Elytrians sport full size wings capable of flight. Let alone one with wings as inky black as the night sky. And yet, here is one such being right before him, equally frozen in shock at the sight of a human having practically fallen out of the freaking sky and slam into the ground next to him.

He’d explored countless sunken ships, both old and modern, climbed up onto abandoned shorelines, and had quite the collection of bits and bobbles from his adventures. He thought he was pretty smart about it too. His small size and quick speed let him slip out of danger. The mer had never been more than a flash of glimmering green scales to a human before.
