Summary
Six months after the last events, Lucifer has to come to the conclusion that he cannot wait for Heaven's word on the captured and imprisoned Exorcists. He has to allow for them to be brought to justice for the family of the new Earl Raum.
And yet, nothing is as it seems and Lilith's surprising return has thrown him off balance and has caused the Radio Demon to be confined for all of their safety.
With many plates in the air, the last thing that Lucifer needs is another mystery on his hand, and yet, that's what he has when one of the Exorcists is murdered in her jail cell while awaiting trial. The palace immediately on lockdown, Lucifer has to race against the clock to locate the murderer or face unrest from his people.

Summary
After months of waiting, he was exhausted.
He stood watch over his king, back straight and hands on his cane.
His care had consumed his thoughts and his dreams. He had tried all that he knew to reach out to the gently spinning set of wheels that was Lucifer and nothing seemed to work. He had, in the early days, ravaged the palace libraries for anything, any little bit of knowledge or wisdom that could help and nothing did, not powers, not dreams, not blasted oracle cards.
He was out of his depth. There was nothing in this situation that he could manipulate. All of his magical prodding came to naught. The pure angelic grace exuded by Lucifer felt like a furnace to his own demonic powers.
There was nothing he could do but wait.
So Alastor stood and watched, waiting for his love, his king, to come back to him.
