The SQUIP is teaching Jeremy a lot of things. The price of a jar of peanut butter. How to deep clean a kitchen. How to perform Jewish funeral rites with a dead-eyed friend and a robot hovering at your back.

The SQUIP teaches its dogs how to dig a hole.

Very good writing. I usually don't love darkfics but this does it for me. Amazing pacing and great dialogue if you like leaning into The Squip as a villain. I love the returning theme of dog-ness and Jeremy being the second project, like SQUIP users are followers that The SQUIP can call on and command.

Some new legislation passes that could get Jeremy in some hot water, but, luckily, The Squip knows just what to do.

    Summary

It’s not easy being madly in love with your best friend. It complicates trying to stalk his mysterious, hideously rich parent who bears an eerie resemblance to Keanu Reeves. It makes all of the popular kids roast you for three years straight. And when said best friend peels back his skin to reveal the circuitry inside, Michael finds himself desperately trying to save the world from the geeky teen Terminator uprising.

(Or at least get on the right side of it. He’d be cool selling his soul to the robot army, so long as it was hot.)

But Michael soon finds that being madly in love with a semi-evil robot isn’t exactly easy either. Stopping the inevitable robopocalypse through love and friendship wouldn’t be so hard if his friends weren’t salty bitches and Jeremy wasn’t totally straight.

    What’s a 2025 teen to do?

Also an interesting interpretation of The Squip. Very quotable.

    Summary

"Jeremy Heere was quite possibly the most attractive man ever to grace the Earth, which was a pretty unfortunate quality to have for someone who was literally Satan."

Michael wasn't stalking the hottest, douchiest new transfer student Jeremy Heere. He was just investigating Jeremy's possible connection to an overarching conspiracy that encompassed the entire city and made nerds into picture perfect people. He was just keeping an eye on Jeremy's psychopathic best buddy Rich Goranksi, who always seemed to be talking in code - and asking for help. And he was just teaming up with the school resident theater geek in a covert operation to uncover the mystery of if any of the popular kids had a soul at all.

Maybe he was just trying to figure out why Jeremy Heere looked so sad all the time. And maybe the answer would be far more complicated than he could have ever imagined.

Amazing characterization and really well-timed humor. Tension all the way through but not to an uncomfortable degree. One of my favorite interpretations of The Squip ever. I also love the perspective this work is coming from. It's a divergence from canon at the beginning, but as it works out, it has a lot of parallels to the original production, because it has similar themes to it, we just get to see those ideas play out in a different way.

    Summary

Down on his luck and neck-deep in a bottle, Aaron Burr answers a Want Ad for a caretaker.

He's expecting children and a dog, not Alexander Hamilton - possibly the only person in New York City in an even bigger spiral than he is.

Aaron doesn’t move, waiting for the other shoe to drop. He watches Hamilton take a deep breath, his shoulders squaring.

“It’s what the ad said. I need a caretaker. Just not for the kids. It’s me. I need you for me.”

    “You.”

Hey, one of the best representations of nonsexual (for the most part) BDSM I’ve seen in a long time :)
