Summary
For twenty years, the Narrator - an old god of golden fire, infamous for slaughtering those humans who'd dare harm each other too much - has been searching for his soulmate. A gift given to few, signified by a perfect match between their scars. And now, at last, his time is nigh - he's leading his soulmate to long-awaited freedom.
For twenty years, Stanley has been being held in an underground facility and hurt, not even allowed to see the sun. At least, until the voice of a god reached into his mind to guide him out, for reasons he can't fathom. And now, at last, he's being freed - guided out by that strange voice, to a world he's been cut off from for two decades.
This isn't an end, it's merely a beginning - but both of them know that Stanley stepping out the door will change everything.
