    Summary

In 1934, an Apatosaurus skeleton was mounted in the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh. Under the name of "Brontosaurus", the headless skeleton was fitted with the cast of a Camarasaurus skull. In 1979, both Camarasaurus and Apatosaurus were put to rights. But how might it feel, to be two ghosts haunting the same skeleton?

    Summary

Steve glances up, but Munson doesn’t give him much more than a flat glare. He grins with teeth, slouches a little, and his worn leather jacket opens up over a faded tee that Steve can’t quite see the graphic on.

“Buckley,” he says, and then nudges her plate like a heathen. “Got a full moon appetite I see.”

Robin sucks in a breath, eyes narrowed. “Oh wow,” she says. “Shouldn’t you be worrying about your third stint at senior year, Munson?”

Munson’s got an expressive face; he looks very briefly like he’s been slapped, then says, reluctantly, “Yeah, I guess so,” and slinks away.

    Summary

“I will not apologize for speaking the truth,” the child says. “However, I regret if that truth has offended you.”

    “Jesus Christ, kid,” Jim mutters.

“I am not offended,” Spock responds, as blandly as he is able. “I was remiss in casting such hasty judgment upon your guardian.”

    ”Father,” she corrects.

    ”Your father,” he agrees.

    *****

An academy AU + Tarsus aftermath fic in which James T. Kirk ends up accidentally parentally bonded to an orphaned Vulcan child. When the father/daughter duo enroll in Star Fleet, hijinks ensue (mostly at the expense of Spock’s previously immaculate but quickly deteriorating self-control).

Winner of the 2025 Philon Award for a novel-length fic (!!!)
