Summary
Dottore waited for almost a century just to reunite with the puppet. The puppet however was faced with a reunion already ruined by death. His grief festered into resentment as he struggled to accept Dottore's segments, who he believed could never replace the man that he lost.
The segments called themselves Dottore. The puppet looked at them and saw only strangers. It was inevitable that the segments would become bitter because of the puppet's rejection.
For all that they ever wanted was for the puppet to return their affection.
Or, Segment 35 decided that if the puppet couldn't accept him, then he would simply revoke his ability to refuse him.

Awards hung on every wall, each encased in elaborate gold frames that appeared hand-crafted. He had a cabinet dedicated to statuettes in a corner and several of his own books and academic papers on display in a bookcase. Scaramouche had never seen a man who wanted to suck his own dick so badly in his entire life.
After a few minutes, Zandik's mouse stilled and he turned his chair to Scaramouche, folding his hands in front of himself. “You’re passable.”
Scaramouche stared at him in disbelief. “What?”
“Passible,” he said again, and Scaramouche briefly imagined smashing his chair over Zandik’s head.
Zandik is a world-renowned surgeon, and Scaramouche is unfortunate enough to have him as a teacher.

The route to the Treasure is secured; now the Phantom Thieves must wait until the deadline before they can strike. Haru suggests a sleepover, and now the nine of them lay sprawled across various spare mattresses in Leblanc’s attic.
Akira was surprised that Akechi agreed to the party. He was even more surprised when, upon allocating sleep space, Akechi agreed to share his bed.
And he should really have expected that there were more surprises to follow.

Being in the Metaverse made him bolder.
He was still himself, of course, just with an only-slightly cheesy code name and a very stylish outfit. But Akira felt like he imagined an actor must, using part of himself to become a new and practiced role. He could be—he had to be—someone cockier, braver, more aggressive. Joker was every part of him that didn't fear repercussions or consequence.
So it was much easier for Akira, playing the role of Joker, to grab Akechi's arm as they walked through the Palace, tired of being ignored.

Akechi stares at Akira's hands as he gently places a cup of carefully-brewed coffee down in front of him with a soft clink as the ceramic hits the lacquered countertop. He watches Akira's fingers pull back from the white saucer—slender, bony, delicate—and thinks about breaking them all, one by one.
The tension between Akechi and Akira has been slowly building for a long time now, but neither one expected it to finally spill over like this.
