The room was so red- fire and smoke and- but- that wasn’t-
Jayce lifted his hands off of Viktor’s chest. Looked down at the knees of his pants, and the awful redbrown stains his palms had just left.
“Blood,” Jayce said, but it came out as less than a whisper. Viktor was bleeding. No, that wasn’t right. He shouldn’t be doing that.
Jayce gripped the fabric and tore- hoped Viktor wouldn’t be angry at Jayce for destroying his clothing after this was all over.
