Maybe it’s the crate he leans against that is full of spare engine parts and really should have been moved inside already, but, well. Mon isn’t going to press the point. Maybe it’s his wrecked expression that mirrors something deep inside her.

So, the encounter with the door gradually slips from his mind.
In hindsight, that was probably Gerry's first mistake, since when he wakes up exactly two weeks later and his bedroom door is suddenly yellow, it’s a little upsetting to say the least.
“Oh fuck off,” is a pretty moderate reaction, considering, and Gerry spends a good hour in his bed, not moving, and not letting his eyes leave it. The compulsion to open it is back in full force, but this time he’s a little more sober and a little more prepared, so the itch is easy to crush. It’s not like he hasn’t had practice at resisting the whims of various entities.
If he’s not letting the Eye get to him, then there’s no way in hell that a door is going to claim him.

Summary
The distortion called Michael opens a door into Elias Bouchard’s office. Doors are its domain as much as manipulation and so it’s as easy as waving a hand, though as soon as the door opens with that creak it’s spent so long perfecting, the Eye’s influence slams into it. The edges of Michael fray and swirl as it steps into the office, meeting the gaze of Elias with a smile that twists across its face. It doesn’t know why it’s here, but it suspects that this puppet of the Eye will have a good idea.

Jon leans back even more against the pillows, pockmark scars seeming to glow in the sunlight and Martin can’t stop himself from tracing his finger across them, counting them. There's silence for a long time, so long that Martin’s half asleep again when Jon starts speaking, softly.

Martin shifts his gaze to meet Jon’s, noting the quiet sadness there.
“Sometimes I try to remember how I looked before all the scars and there’s just nothing. I can’t even remember what it felt like to be entirely human.”
Martin brushes his fingers over Jon’s cheek again.
“I understand,” is all he says, but it’s enough.------------
Martin and Jon wake up at Salesa's manor to find the first real quiet since the apocalypse began - the perfect opportunity to work through the absolute mess of feelings the apocalypse has left them with.

Geralt’s fingers brushed the wound on his head and it was a stupid, indulgent feeling, that left Jaskier feeling like he was both drawing and being saved at the same time. It was a feeling that wouldn’t ever be reciprocated because his foolish heart picked a Witcher. So instead of responding to the whatever energy he was imagining between the two, Jaskier pulled away, glancing down even as it felt like the biggest mistake of his life.

The road to the city of Daset is far too long in Jaskier's opinion, but he was the one that decided to follow the Witcher out into the wilderness anyway so he should probably bite his tongue. Even as Geralt puts him through horrible fighting lessons every day. And it's not long before they meet trouble - first bandits and then a goddess, both who seem intent on keeping the pair away from the city. And of course Geralt still decides to investigate. It'd probably make a good song anyway.Series

The forest was ablaze, smoke so thick it seemed the whole FAYZ would be smothered in it. Run - he had to run. Diana was smart, and Caine couldn’t help her if he was dead. He didn’t want to think about what would happen if her’s was one of the many, many bodies dotting the town.
Eyes now streaming from the smoke, Caine picked a direction and bolted.
